Shopping

Okay, so no picture today.
No school for the rest of the week. We need a break!
Sis and I were asked to provide 'light' and 'dark' wine for Thanksgiving. Sis talked to my daughter-in-law and asked her to be more specific. She wanted a red and a white wine. One dry and one on the sweeter side. Sis 'googled' and we now have three bottles of wine to take. They will all complement the turkey.

Tomorrow we get our hair done and then we are off to Rapid. Borders is having a great sale. Mary needs to get some Christmas presents. Unlike me, she does not pick up things starting in July. I just have some knitting to finish and cookies to make. I think she just needs her monthly 'fix' of the big city.

Happy Thanksgiving to all who stop by my blog.

First Blizzard

This last picture is how the front of our house looked on Halloween Eve. It was so nice. Didn't need to wear a coat even. The other two show how the house looks today, November 6. The blizzard started last night. School was cancelled of course.
Sis put her wellies on and braved the back deck to clear the snow away from the bird feeder. She came in with snow caked in her hair and on her robe. Didn't take long to convert her to a snowman.
Since my son can't go to work in Sturgis today, [they are advising no travel] I talked him into checking on the chickens and feeding and watering them. Well, the coop is down below his house, so it is just a hop, skip, and a jump for him. Well... four wheel drive today.
If the weatherman is correct, which is not very often, the sky is supposed to clear up this afternoon. Then I will don my snow boots, winter coat and gloves, and start shoveling the walk and driveway.
On days like this I wish I lived on a tropical island and was swimming in the ocean, or sitting in my lawn chair watching the ocean and sipping on a drink.
